Dr Myrna Patrick

Myrna is an Associate Consultant of HOWES INC.  She is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados with a Master of Philosophy in Educational Management and Administration and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education.

A passionate lifelong educator, she has spent over thirty years in education mainly in the public sector.  Her extensive contributions to the advancement of education in Barbados have included Educational Research, Policy and Planning, Curriculum Development and Planning, and Recruitment and Training.  Myrna’s creative talents evident in her style of facilitation have been the catalyst for the successes enjoyed by numerous students; her innovative approach to training has been fully utilised in her role as a resource person in the conduct of Drama and Poetry Workshops as well as creative writing for special needs students.  At the community level she has used her expertise to support adult learning and development. 

Myrna’s desire to effect change at the national level has lead to certification in Competence-based Training and Assessment with its emphasis on workplace learning and adult learning styles. Certification has provided Myrna with the platform to practise this skill in her capacity as an Associate Consultant with HOWES INC and in so doing, to provide facilitation services in competence-based training and assessment which address national skills development needs.
