Marceline Smith

Marcie, a founder, principal, and integral management official of HOWES INC, brings over 30 years banking experience to the business. The company and its clients stand to benefit from her regional exposure and strong analytical capabilities.

From a business development perspective, Marcie has strategically established and developed key merchant banking relationships in the region, while significantly contributing to the automation and re-engineering of credit card processing methodologies for a leading banking institution.

As a regional banker, Marcie's wealth of risk management expertise has been notable. She played a pivotal role in the project management and implementation of electronic risk management procedures throughout the Caribbean.  Marcie's exposure to the regional market is inclusive of a three year attachment in the Cayman Islands, which facilitated exposure and the development of expertise in International Business and Trade Finance Services.

Other regional contributions have been in the area of training assignments in technical banking and supervisory management. Marcie's facilitation of learning and development initiatives throughout the Caribbean exceeds 10 years. She is a qualified trainer, having received significant trainer training in Barbados and the U.K. Marcie is certified in Competence-Based Training and Assessment and also possesses the National Vocational Qualification of Jamaica (NVQ-J) in Assessment Level 4.

Marcie holds the M.Sc. degree in Financial Services Management from the University of Surrey, Guildford, UK and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers UK (ACIB).
